BOKU is pleased to announce an initiative that aims to encourage a very high standard of written contributions to the FORMEC 2015 Conference Proceedings. The Scientific Committee will review all papers received and the two overall best papers and the best posters will receive a split 800 Euro award to be presented at the meeting.
The 48th FORMEC held in Linz, Austria, has gathered 189 participants from 28 countries around the globe. Thank you all for your participation, efforts and help to make the FORMEC that successful. We look forward to seeing you in Warsaw, Poland, at FORMEC 2016.
All the posters will be available during the whole sysmposium. Additionaly two poster sessions are planned, where all the presenters should be available for discussions. The sessions will be on Monday between 1:30 and 2 pm and on Tuesday between 2 and 2:30 pm.

FORMEC will bring together researchers, practitioners and government officials from different countries to share state-of-the-art knowledge of harvesting operations, with a focus on steep terrain.
The mission of SLOPE is to develop an integrated system for the optimization of the forest production in mountain areas. Its aim is to fill the gap between the more expensive and less flexible forestry operations in mountain areas and more optimized cut-to-length systems in flatland forests.

The conference venue has provisionally made 120 rooms available for conference participants. The Courtyard Linz Hotel will hold this block booking until 08/23/15. Advanced reservation is highly recommended since the blocking is limited.
