If you are presenting interesting and novel research results on any topic related to harvesting operations at the FORMEC 2025 Conference, consider complementing your work by publishing it in the upcoming Special Issue of Silva Fennica, titled "FORMEC 2025: Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Harvesting Operations". This issue will be guest-edited by Prof. Jori Uusitalo (University of Helsinki) and Chad Bolding (University of Georgia). All papers submitted before the deadline, September 30, 2025, will be considered for inclusion in this special issue. Submissions will undergo the standard peer-review process of Silva Fennica.
Please find below a brief summary of the rules for the Silva Fennica Special Issue (For more details, see Silva Fennica / Instructions for Authors):
- Articles will be published immediately after completing the peer-review process and reaching their final form.
- Once all papers have been published, Silva Fennica will create a dedicated page under the Special Issues category.
- Silva Fennica enforces Everyone’s Right to Forest Science: All accepted articles are published immediately open to everyone, ensuring greater visibility and impact for your research. You keep the copyright to your work. However, each accepted paper is subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC). A 15% discount on the APC (€900 or €600) will be granted for articles published in the Silva Fennica FORMEC 2025 Special Issue. Authors from lower-middle income and low-income countries do not pay any APC.
- Silva Fennica follows a strict openness policy, including research data and computer codes. Authors are required to make the data and analytical codes on which their manuscripts are based openly available.
